For local government city and county managers who are done with plans that sit on shelves.
You spent thousands of dollars and a ton of time developing a strategic plan that sounds great on paper. And then somehow, after it gets adopted, not much actually happens.
I know the feeling. I've been on the inside of local government, and I've seen this story play out over and over. That's exactly what Stratalysts exists to fix.
I've been there. That's why Stratalysts exists.
Sometimes you don't need a full strategic planning process. You need an honest, outside look at where your organization is actually aligned, where it isn't, and what to do about it.
That's what the Strategic Alignment Diagnostic gives you. In on 90-minute virtual session with you and your leadership team, we work through where your team stands across six dimensions: abilities, change, commitment, culture, resources, and strategy. Within five business days, you get a written Pulse Check Report with your top three gaps, what's actually causing them, and a clear "where to start" action plan.
It's designed for city and county managers who can sense something isn't quite clicking but can't name it. It's also useful for new managers who want a baseline before making big moves, and for organizations that tried strategic planning before and didn't get the traction they hoped for.
At $997, it's purposely priced to be accessible to small local governments and focused on getting results and momentum now.

I'm Shannon. After over twenty years working in local government, I founded Stratalysts because I was tired of seeing organizations spend a ton of time and money develop to a strategic plan that never went anywhere. I felt frustrated by the disconnect between vision and reality.
After I started paying attention, I noticed the problem is seldom a bad strategic plan. More often than not, it has everything to do with being able to translate strategic planning into operational doing. Just because you have a good strategic plan does not mean the organization is in a position to execute it. What looks good on paper can quickly fall apart when confronted with day-to-day realities.
I help local governments become strategic organizations...not just strategic planners.

Ensures your team is equipped and aligned before planning even begins by evaluating organizational capacity and developing clarity and buy-in with tools like the Strategic Planning Readiness Assessment and organization-wide or role-based Orientation Sessions.

Strategic Plan Development engages the entire organization (and community) to create a plan that is visionary but based in the reality of organizational capacity, resources, and thoughtful prioritization.

Implementation Support bridges the gap between strategy and action. How does the organization actually "do the plan"? By providing customized coaching, training, and accountability mechanisms I help your team operate strategically and make the plan a part of your day-to-day.

Helps local governments strengthen the leadership, culture, team dynamics, and change capacity needed to operate strategically. These services can support plan implementation or be provided as stand-alone engagements for organizations or teams that need targeted support.

If you've ever looked at a strategic plan and thought, "ok, but where do we actually start?", this one is for you. The Strategic Plan Pyramid is a simple framework I use with leadership teams to figure out what actually matters, in what order, and how to talk about it together so your whole team is rowing in the same direction.

I specialize in strategic planning...so why do we keep talking about prioritization? Isn't that just part of the strategic planning process? Well, kind of. Read about why I think prioritization is a critical, and often forgotten, step to strategic planning success.
A new election cycle brings new mayors, new board chairs, and a real change to get everyone aligned before the next budget cycle. If you're a city or county manager or chief executive bringing on incoming electeds, you don't need another thing on your plate.
This free guide is built to be shared. Forward it to your incoming mayor or board chair as part of their onboarding. It gives them a grounded introduction to their role, the relationship between elected officials and staff, and what actually makes that partnership work.
